The 2025 Hanžeković Foundation awards committee – Marijana Bađun (Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb), Bruno Ćorić (Faculty of Economics, Split), Maja Klun (Faculty of Public Administration, Ljubljana), Katarina Ott (Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb) and Josip Tica (Faculty of Economics and Business, Zagreb) has decided on the winners of this year’s awards.
The regular award – 6,500 euros, medal and diploma – goes to Frane Banić, from the Research Area and Economic Analysis Department at the Croatian National Bank, and Guzmán González-Torres, from the Economics, Statistics and Research Department of the Italy’s Central Bank, for the article “Different strokes for different folks: untangling supply and demand shocks using survey-data to assess sectoral inflationary pressures in Croatia”.
The student award – 2,000 euros and diplomas – goes to Mihael Brusan and Jakov Čorak, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, for the article “Inflation in Croatia: a new era of forecasting with machine learning”.
The award ceremony will be held at the end of November and the awarded papers will be published in the journal Public Sector Economics.
